Hetairos Overall Bucket Winner 2019!

With a 1-2-3 scoreline to show for its crew's strong execution of plan, the 66.9m ketch Hetairos (Dykstra Naval Architects / RP designed), won the six-yacht Les Gazelles des Mer class and the Bucket trophy.

We were very proud to have 5 Dykstra designed yachts competing in this year's Bucket Regatta: Adela, Aquarius, Aurelius, Hetairos and Velsheda. This year's regatta was a special one for the Dykstra team as the company celebrates its 50th Anniversary.

The top two yachts in the six-strong Les Elegantes des Mers class exchanged leads on the first two days of racing and were knotted up in Sunday's race until the 56.2m ketch Aquarius untangled it all, winning to edge out the 39.3 J Class yacht Velsheda (Dykstra refit and optimization design) by one point in final scoring. Aquarius, built by Royal Huisman and designed by Dykstra Naval Architects, was brand new to racing.

"If you won your class at the 2019 St. Barths Bucket, you were doing something right and can be very proud," said Race Director Peter Craig at Sunday evening's Awards Ceremony. "Across the board, we had incredibly competitive racing."

St Barths Bucket Regatta 2019 was a great success thanks to the Bucket organization, Stewards and Friends of the Bucket... and last but not least all owners and crew participating!
